Looking at its interface and appearance, I would say that the Breville 800ESXL Espresso Machine. Not a lot of machines could boast a beautiful and solid feel and look while offering a lot of nice touches (integral storage bin, swiveling steam wand, and those are just to name a few).

And it offers a lot of more than great looks, durability, and nifty features.

Above everything else, the Breville 800ESXL Espresso Machine produces excellent espresso (and did I mention that its beautiful?). After all, the reason why I bought this is to get great espresso out of it. True, there are shortcomings in this machine (BUT which one doesn't?). This is, however, well compensated by nice engineering. For example, it comes with an auto purge feature that avoids scaling the grounds.

You may be thinking: for $400 is this really worth it?

Now, that depends on you. You could find other espresso machines and coffee makers out there that are half the price and still does a good job of creating espresso. HOWEVER, the durability (thanks to the stainless steel construction) and great looks coupled with niceties added to it is hard to beat.

That's something you don't enjoy from cheaper coffee makers. Not to mention there is a great chance that they won't last as long. Bottom line: grabbing the Breville 800ESXL Espresso Machine is highly recommended!
